The upper Midwest is often overlooked as an area for growing high-quality fruits. However, there are many suitable Minnesota varieties to try. Pete Moe, director of operations with the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum and the University of Minnesota Horticultural Research Center in Victoria, Minn., shares varieties that perform well in colder climates.
