60,000 people turn 65 every year in Minnesota. And there are more people 65 and older than there are in K-12 education. At the same time, since March of 2020, Minnesota saw a 8,834 decrease in nursing and residential care jobs, down to 99,574. Harmony River is part of the Presbyterian Homes & Services network, which is thinking about creative ways to recruit staff.
