Fern Cloud is a Native American designer and Dakota hide painter who uses bone brushes and traditional paint pigments to convey symbolism and history on buffalo and deer hides. She lives in Granite Falls, MN and is the great-great-granddaughter of Taoyateduta, known as "Little Crow," the Mdewakanton Dakota chief who fought the Dakota War of 1862.
