Professor Kathy Cramer wrote a book on rural resentment and politics, which focused on Wisconsin. It's called "The Politics of Resentment: Rural Consciousness in Wisconsin and the Rise of Scott Walker". She's also the director of the Morgridge Center for Public Service at UW-Madison.
