We start our students in simulation their first semester of nursing school.
There is a lot of literature that supports simulation so as a program, we try to incorporate it for hard to grasp concepts in the classroom.
So this is one of our pediatric simulators or manikins and you can see he can blink.
He can move.
He can speak.
He can look side to side.
It's pretty amazing.
They can come and talk to him.
He also is breathing.
He has heart sounds and belly sounds.
Hi, Derek.
How are you doing?
It really, really hurts.
What hurts buddy?
My face hurts.
Derek, what's your name?
Who are you?
I'm Mary.
I'm going to be your nurse today.
Do you like it here in the hospital?
I want to go home.
When did you fall buddy?
Since last night.
You did?
Since last night.
How many times?
