Aftan and Aric Koenen, proprietors of the Hinterland Winery in rural Clara City. Established in 2005 by Karin Koenen (Aric’s mother) Aric and members of the extended Koenen family, the winery, located amidst the corn and bean fields of Chippewa County, has been gaining a reputation for quality, award winning wines made from Minnesota cold hardy grapes.
