The 2021/2022 school year marks the second year that Southwest Minnesota State University has had an esports team. They’re the first in the Minnesota State system of colleges and universities to have a competitive video gaming team. Compass chatted with SMSU President Kumara Jayasuriya, head coach Spencer Louwagie and players about the team.
