For seven years, Beth O'Keefe has been studying hide tanning from a master tanner. For her 2022 Ignite Rural Artists project she studied a collection in Brooklyn, NY and reproduced a Dakota woman’s dress. She's also been working on passing down the knowledge. Ignite Rural Artists was co-designed by the Department of Public Transformation, Dakota Wicohan, Mni Sota Arts and Racing Magpie.
